You have a playlist on your device and want to browse it without installing another application. The file importer turns its stream references into a channel library, provided the document is valid and the sources are authorized. To import an M3U IPTV playlist file online reliably, start with the original file and keep a copy. Uploading is a parsing step, not a guarantee that every referenced stream will remain available or work in every browser.
01Check the document before choosing it
Look for an .m3u or .m3u8 filename and confirm that the file came from a source you trust and are permitted to use. A playlist is normally text. It can contain descriptive metadata and stream addresses, including addresses that carry private access tokens. Keep the document out of public file-sharing folders and do not attach it casually to support requests or screenshots.
A filename extension is only a clue. A webpage saved after a failed download may have the expected name while containing a login screen or error text. An archive must not be renamed to imitate a playlist. If the document is not what you expected, obtain the original export from the source owner before spending time on player settings or browser troubleshooting.
02Open the import tool and select your file
Go to Import Playlist and click the upload area. Choose the file with the normal device picker. On a supported desktop browser, dragging the document into the upload area is another option. The tool shows the selected filename and size before submission. Give the playlist an optional name if you prefer a clear label to the original exported filename.
The displayed limit applies to the playlist document. The default is 20 MB, which is not a limit on the total length of all referenced video. A small playlist can point to many hours of media because it stores addresses rather than those video bytes. If the document is too large, use a smaller export from your source instead of repeatedly submitting the same file.
03Let validation distinguish the file from its streams
Select Import playlist to submit the document for validation and parsing. The application checks its content rather than declaring success because the upload finished. A valid playlist begins with the expected M3U structure and contains usable references. If parsing succeeds, the player reports discovered channels and categories and opens the library. If it fails, the message gives you a reason to choose or obtain another file.
Some entries may be skipped when their references are malformed or use unsupported destinations. A document containing other valid entries can still be useful. Duplicate stream URLs are consolidated rather than producing repeated cards. An empty or unusable playlist does not become a mock catalog; the application asks for a valid source. This keeps a successful import distinct from a successful upload of arbitrary bytes.
04See how groups and names become the library
The channel display label is taken from the playlist’s descriptive entry, with a TVG name fallback where available. Group titles become categories in the sidebar. A channel without a group remains under Uncategorized. Missing artwork gets a simple visual fallback. None of those missing optional fields necessarily prevents a valid stream reference from being included in the imported list.
Use M3U group titles to organize channels if you maintain your own playlist. Preserve identifiers and stream URLs while changing friendly labels. A category is a browsing aid; it does not change a stream’s format or entitlement. A group called Movies also does not turn a flat M3U entry into a provider’s structured movie-detail or series-episode record.
05Know the special case of a saved HLS manifest
M3U8 can describe an HLS stream rather than a multi-channel collection. A saved manifest often contains relative references to other playlists or media segments. The file alone does not provide the original server location needed to resolve those references. This application asks you to load the original hosted URL for such a manifest instead of pretending it can discover the missing base address.

Do not rewrite relative segments into guessed public links; ask the source owner for the intended playable address and preserve any access parameters it requires.
06Try a channel before building your favorites list
After import, open one familiar authorized channel to check the source. Then try a second if the first fails. This tells you more than immediately favoriting a large collection whose links may be outdated. A valid text document can still contain unavailable media, expired tokens, or streams using codecs that your browser cannot decode. The parser does not test every channel by downloading its video during import.
Use the available playback controls to adjust volume, screen fit, and video brightness. Leave source and format choices unchanged until you have a specific reason to try an alternative. 07Understand what happens to the uploaded file
The application processes playlist content on its backend and temporarily retains the parsed library in server memory. It does not permanently save the original uploaded file or send it to an external parsing service. This is not the same as entirely offline processing: the application server receives the upload. A server restart or expired session can require you to import the original document again.
Favorites, recent history, and progress use local browser storage with limited metadata. They do not contain the raw playlist stream URLs. Clearing website data removes those local conveniences, while disconnecting clears the active session. Read the privacy policy for the full distinction, particularly if you are using a shared computer or a browser profile that another person can access.
08Reconnect with a current source when needed
Keep your original file, but remember that a playlist can age. When a provider replaces access links, obtain a current export. Reimporting the same document does not ask the provider to generate new stream tokens. If updates are frequent, a maintained playlist URL may be more convenient than downloading new files. Choose the connection method your authorized source actually supplies. Xtream credentials may give you structured catalogs; a URL may provide a maintained list; a file may suit a collection you control. None includes content rights by itself. If the importer reports an application problem, contact support with the file type, size, browser, and displayed error, while leaving private addresses and passwords out of the message.
