A downloaded playlist does not need a separate desktop application to become useful. Choose Import File above, browse to your authorized M3U or M3U8 document, and import it into IPTVPlayer.online. On a desktop browser, you can also drag the file into the upload area. The selected filename and size appear before you submit, so you can check that you chose the right document.

The application validates the file and parses its references for your current session. It discovers channel names and groups, then opens the player when usable entries are available. Files are not saved permanently on the server or shared with a third-party parsing service. They are processed by this application’s backend, so importing is not a purely offline operation.

M3U is a text-based playlist format. Its entries commonly pair a descriptive EXTINF line with a stream URL. A playlist may contain a small collection or many thousands of references, but it normally does not contain the video itself. Importing a larger text file does not mean you have uploaded a library of films. Playback still needs a working connection to the referenced sources.

An M3U8 document uses UTF-8 and can also be an HLS media manifest. A locally saved manifest often references relative video segments that cannot be resolved from the file alone. In that case, use its original hosted URL on the Playlist URL page. Renaming an MP4, ZIP archive, or HTML page to an M3U extension does not turn it into a valid playlist.

Use the original file supplied by your authorized provider or exported from your own source. The default upload limit is 20 MB, although the site operator may configure a different limit shown in the tool. Only M3U and M3U8 file extensions are accepted. The parser also checks the file content, so an accepted filename is just the first validation step.

Blank lines, a UTF-8 byte-order mark, extra spacing, and missing optional attributes are handled where possible. Stream references need public HTTP or HTTPS addresses. Unsupported schemes, private network destinations, and malformed links are excluded. If no usable channels remain, the interface asks you to choose a valid file instead of opening an empty player and pretending the import succeeded.

The display label after an EXTINF line becomes the channel name. Where that label is missing, a TVG name can provide a fallback. A group-title attribute becomes a category in the left sidebar, helping you move through a large playlist without scrolling through every entry. Entries without group information remain available under Uncategorized. The application does not invent entertainment categories or add sample channels.

TVG identifiers can connect channels with XMLTV programme listings. Logos are displayed only when a supported image is supplied and reachable. Missing or failed images use a clean fallback rather than a broken image symbol. Repeated references to the same stream are consolidated. Descriptive labels and category counts come from the actual imported document, not a prebuilt public catalog.

Once the library opens, select a category to narrow the grid or search for a channel by name. Search runs locally over the loaded metadata and does not send your viewing interests to a search engine. Large lists are broken into bounded pages, keeping the number of active cards small even when the source contains thousands of channels. Keyboard focus makes navigation possible without precise pointer movement.

M3U entries appear in the Live TV section in this version, because arbitrary playlists do not reliably describe a separate movie and series database. An Xtream connection can provide dedicated catalogs when its API supports them. The player does not guess seasons or generate episode information from channel names. Choose the Xtream tool when you have compatible provider credentials and want those structured sections.

A channel opens in a video surface with play, pause, volume, channel navigation, and fullscreen controls. The playback engine chooses native HLS when the browser supports it, uses hls.js where appropriate, and can attempt compatible MPEG transport streams. Direct media formats still depend on the codecs inside them. The application does not promise that every extension, provider, or television browser will work.

When the source exposes real HLS quality variants, select a level or let Auto adapt. Screen modes adjust the video fit, and brightness changes its visual appearance without changing hardware settings. Locking hides normal controls to reduce accidental interaction. Audio selection, captions, and Picture in Picture appear where the engine or browser exposes support. If decoding fails, try a supported format or another channel.

The imported playlist is retained temporarily in server memory for the active session. It is not written to a permanent playlist database. A server restart, session expiration, or cleared cookie may require you to import the original file again. Keep a copy of your playlist in a location you control. This version deliberately avoids a cloud account or permanent credential library.

Favorites and recently watched information use IndexedDB on the current device. Small playback preferences use localStorage. These records exclude raw stream URLs and provider passwords. Local information is scoped to the playlist, so you can clear one connection’s favorites or progress in Settings. Clearing browser storage removes this information, and switching browsers does not automatically transfer it.

If import succeeds but a channel will not play, the text document may be valid while its source is unavailable. Stream access tokens can expire, providers can limit simultaneous sessions, and remote servers can be offline. Check another channel, confirm account status with your provider, and use a fresh exported playlist if the links have changed. Reimporting the same outdated file cannot repair an expired address.

Direct playback can also encounter CORS or mixed-content restrictions. An HTTPS page may block an HTTP source. A controlled relay is available only when enabled by the site operator, and it cannot solve unsupported codecs or a provider’s subscription rules. It checks public destinations and restricts media redirects. The player offers a useful error message instead of leaving a loading animation running indefinitely.

Importing a file does not prove that its streams are licensed for your use. Only use playlists you own or have permission to access. IPTVPlayer.online does not distribute playlists, sell subscriptions, provide provider logins, or endorse the contents of imported documents. If you are unsure about a source, resolve that question with its owner before connecting it to the player.

Keep playlist files private because their URLs may contain credentials or access tokens. Do not attach them to public bug reports. When asking this site for help, describe the browser, the connection method, and the displayed error without including secrets. The contact page handles interface feedback; your provider remains responsible for account access, channel availability, and the content behind its stream references.
